Here to help you find balance, build strength, and embrace growth

Registered Counsellor

Drawing on a robust foundation in counselling, psychology, mental health, and suicide prevention, I offer empathetic and evidence-based interventions tailored to your unique needs. My expertise extends to various integrated therapeutic modalities, including strength-based, solution-focused, mindfulness, CBT, Transactional Analysis, Narrative Therapy, and Expressive Arts Therapy, allowing for a flexible and person-centred approach to support your journey.

My professional journey has been diverse and enriching. It has encompassed vital roles within crisis and suicide prevention and intervention services, Queensland regional and remote mental health agency services and community recovery programs. These experiences have honed my adaptability and equipped me with the skills to effectively address a broad spectrum of personal and work-related stressors impacting individuals and families.

Beyond direct client work, I have demonstrated leadership and a commitment to professional development through facilitating individual and group supervision sessions for Lifeline Australia. My current part-time role as a Family and Relationship Practitioner with a national not-for-profit organisation further deepens my understanding of interpersonal dynamics and family well-being, enriching my ability to provide comprehensive support.

I am passionate about establishing strong rapport and creating a safe and supportive space for you to explore challenges, develop coping strategies, and achieve your well-being goals.

About Me

I often get asked ‘How did you end up becoming a counsellor?’

I am a Brisbane-born girl who was always known for her rose-tinted glasses and embracing life with a full attitude. At 22, these traits empowered me to travel the world and reside in the Middle East and Europe for over 20 years.

My wellbeing journey began when I returned home, to a country I hadn’t lived in for over 20 years. Therapy helped me feel complete again, become more confident, connect with new friends and gave me the strategies and tools to start a new life—making my career move personal.

Helping people heal, feel empowered and reconnect with themselves became my life’s goal. I wanted to help people find agency, strength, purpose and meaning in their life, so I studied Counselling at the University of the Sunshine Coast. My part-time role with Lifeline Australia as a Centre Supervisor helps me continually discover how to support people best.

I have supported many people using a person-centred approach—the backbone of my counselling practice—alongside a trauma-informed approach.

I am a white Caucasian woman (PGPs: she/her/hers) in a heterosexual marriage with four stepchildren. I constantly endeavour to be conscious of how my privileged traits may appear in the world and within a therapeutic setting. I feel genuinely honoured when helping people make a difference in their life.

Australia is a country like no other. Our countryside is wild and beautiful, our weather spectacular and fierce, our nation is culturally diverse, our lifestyle is outdoors, and our beliefs are wide-ranging. Australians have a great sense of humour and are full of resilience and strength, and we know how to yakka hard when faced with adversity.

However, Australia can sometimes be isolating, stressful and brutal. Therapy by Coast Life Counselling can help it become inclusive, supportive, relaxing, caring, and free.

Philosophy of Practice

I want to understand how you see and experience your life. The focus will always be on you as a whole. Together, we will find out who you are at your core, what is your story, where is the root of your concern and what you want in this life. In doing so, we will make sense of your existential challenges and choices, understand what gives your life meaning and help you transform from surviving to thriving.
